Artist Statement
Shae is a Seattle born artist. Although Shae considers herself self taught. She was able to improve her artistic skills in her high school classes and studied Digital Media Arts for a few years at Bellevue College. LaShae has always had a strong spiritual background and belief in God.
Shae’s greatest inspiration are Jehovah, her husband, parents, grandmothers, 4 siblings, and two dogs who have taught her the importance of being positive and grateful.
Although Shae is a very introverted person, she oddly enough is very inspired and interested in people and cultures. Which reflects itself in her artist works. A strong passion of Shae’s has always been helping people. This lead her to travel and experience living in Madagascar as a missionary for some time. Which served as a great inspiration and eyeopener both spiritually and artistically. LaShae’s biggest desire is to convey thoughts and emotions through art. And believes creativity has powerful healing abilities.
Shae’s goal is to grow her communitie’s appreciation of the arts and continue her path of helping others in Madagascar learn English so they can gain a stronger connection to the outside world.
